Debbie Hawkins
Director of Mother's Day Out
Debbie Hawkins grew up in El Paso, the city that’s as far west in Texas as one can go! She later moved to College Station to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Texas A&M University (whoop!). Debbie has been married to her college sweetheart, Travis, since 1994, and has since located to Cypress. They have two wonderful children - Kayla and Caleb. Debbie’s hobbies include reading, watching movies, walking, and attempting to make crafts like she finds on Pinterest (still a work in progress). One of the traditions that she has carried over from her childhood is traveling with her family whenever and wherever she can.
As Director of Sonshine - the MDO program for our church - Debbie gets the best of both worlds: She gets to be in charge of wonderful teachers while at the same time she gets to interact and play with kids throughout the day. She loves the Lord and her favorite thing to do is to share this with all kids - both little and big. It’s not surprising to find her one moment teaching a Bible study to the kids and then singing and dancing with them in the next moment. Her favorite life verse is Micah 6:8: And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
