We have a great opportunity to be THE Church and Partner with Community of Faith (COF) for a Work Day at Roberts Road Elementary (RRE).
WHO:
Anyone who is willing to join us and can do some work!
WHEN:
Saturday, August 17
Two volunteer shifts:
8am-10:30am | 10:30am-1pm
WHERE:
Roberts Road Elementary
24920 Zube Rd, Hockley, TX 77447
WHAT:
Projects include:
- - Mulch the playground areas (This is a BIG job that will take most of the project to finish)
- - Paint foursquare & parking lot stripes
- - Distribute school supplies to the classrooms (They will be delivered Aug 8 to RRE).
- - Weed the baseball field & fence line
- - Remove the wooden 'bus stop' by the start of the car rider line
- - There may be additional projects inside the building as determined by the teachers on that day.
Other needs:
- Someone who can 'grind' down the exposed metal on one of the slides, then rhino line it.
- Someone who can pick up a Bobcat from one of our church member's homes. He can run it for us, he just cannot transport it because it's too big (5' wide, 11' long, 6.5' tall, 4740 lbs).
For Volunteers:
- Water bottles (or coolers of water & lemonade)
- Snack items
- Sunscreen & bug repellant
COF has a work trailer with shovels, rakes, etc. People can also bring their own (labeled) tools.
COF will purchase the mulch (which will be delivered that day by large dump trucks).
